The Street Heritage Research Group is a loose network of academics, local historians, activists, campaigners, artists and performers. The group seeks to further the research and public understanding of all aspects of Street Heritage. The group offers a forum where interested parties can meet to discuss all aspects of street heritage, from curating, understanding and protecting street heritage to how street heritage can be the focus for the creative arts and political campaigning.

NEWS

Building on the work of Founding Member and Chairperson, Calvin Payne, we are delighted to announce that The Street Heritage Research Group has secured EU funding to forward its Drainspotting ambitions. Drainspotting became a featured story of the European Heritage Open Days events (read the submission here) and was subsequently successful in securing significant funding to further our understanding of street heritage. The project is in partnership with Sheffield Civic Trust, and Hidden Sheffield Walks.

The project aims to engage communities across Europe in curating and managing endangered Street Heritage features and will be working towards publishing a full management plan for targeted areas.

If you would like to get involved do please contact us by email at streetheritageresearchgroup@gmail.com
