This program series was a product of the Big Idea initiative in an effort to improve processes at Animal Services and reduce animal intake to the sometimes overextended shelter. A series of programs taking place around the county and virtually (to make sure people from various areas had a convenient opportunity) was planned. If this initial bout of programs goes well the series will continue.
Thus far, more than 800 people have attended these programs!
For this Choose Your Own Adventure (CYOA) Book style program, I adapted a Witcher short story to have decision making points that led people to 7 stations around the library and 5 potential endings. During the program there will also be Trivia and Coloring sheets for people who may have already completed the CYOA, which will remain out as a passive program for a month.
I hope that this program will inspire more people to read the books!
For this drop-in program/interactive display, I matched books to tarot cards and used the cards to provide reader's advisory. It worked well during the month of October while the library was decorated for Halloween. The display received a lot of positive feedback from library users and staff and many of the books were checked out. It also caught the attention of an organization who made it a stop on a scavenger hunt they were doing. 37 Books circulated from this display at ELF!
This display got positive feedback from other staff and administration when it was featured!
22 people attended this 2-hour drop-in program
For these programs, I did the initial contact with the presenter and brought them in to our system as a first-time presenter. For most of the programs I also remained the main point of contact and completed the planning and promotion for.

The culmination of the Holleman Internship was planning and leading a program. I led an information session about personality typing and provided resources for people relevant to their types, such as reading lists with book recommendations based on personality type. This was also an example of pandemic-related flexibility as what was originally meant to be an in-person drop-in program became a virtual informational program.
A video recording of (most) of the program presentation is available here.
This popular program had so many attendees that it was split into multiple sessions which I led one of.

I love gingerbread houses! It was so fun to help out with this program and make sure people got replacement materials if they broke and/or ate theirs.
I observed this program and made the PA announcement inviting people to attend.
