Advocacy, Community & Equity Series
The ACE Series, a speciality of Strat Innovations, is designed to assist students in their ongoing education, training, education and experiential learning. This series focuses on dialogue across difference, intersectionality, and the creation and maintenance of equitable and inclusive spaces and communities. A six-part series, the ACE Series can be packaged as individual workshops or an ongoing series of workshops.
In this workshop, participants engage in various conversations and activities to embrace and understand the inner workings of their own privileges and identities and those of others. Through open dialogue and prompts tailored to encourage cross-cultural conversations, students will be better equipped to contribute to a more productive and positive community and environment.

In this workshop, participants will learn the concepts of microaggressions and their effects on their peers. Through group conversations, self-reflections, and scenario work, students will develop the necessary skills to identify, confront and diffuse microaggressions that occur in their communities.

In this training, participants will learn how to facilitate a variety of difficult conversations that occur in their everyday lives. From living in residence to the top leadership positions, students will practice conversational engagement, active listening, and more to successfully navigate dialogues across difference.

This workshop offers a safe and supportive space for students to engage in crucial conversations with peers about the importance of the intersections of race, ethnicity, and belonging. Participants will explore how these interconnected aspects of identity shape our experiences and perspectives, fostering a deeper understanding of ourselves and others. Through guided discussions, interactive activities, and reflective exercises, participants will examine their own assumptions and biases related to race and ethnicity, explore the complexities of belonging and how it is impacted by race and ethnicity, and develop skills for respectful and productive dialogue across differences.

In this training, participants will visit the importance, value and impacts of language and messaging. With renewed understanding and utilization of best practices, students will learn how to use and implement language and tone to convey clear, direct messaging in a variety of situations.
