Fabric

I haven't done a lot of sewing, but I do make things out of fabric occasionally. Most of my fabric projects were the result of taking a class where you complete a project during the class.

Not this one, though-- I painted this cute little teapot, and found some matching fabric at the quilt store to make an insulated tea cozy for it!

I also made some very nice placemats for a friend, wish I'd taken pictures of them; ditto the insulated steering wheel covers I made for friends.

This is a felt and embroidery belt favor I made of my SCA house heraldic device.

I've done some simple straight-seam sewing for my SCA hobby. The flowered robe is a practice piece. I've sewn three linen long robes (two white/natural and one brown) and three linen-rayon blend peplos (olive, teal, and goldenrod). I don't have pictures of them all.

Had tea at Cuthbert's at Dickens Faire, and that comes with a complimentary teapot. So, I needed another tea cozy! Picked up these cute daisy fabrics and found a pattern online, and made an insulated tea cozy-- there's a sandwich layered fleece and mylar insert that should keep the tea nice and warm. The top ties on with ribbon, and the bottom is elastic.

I love butterflies, and I have two butterfly teapots-- the one shown here modeling the tea cozy, and a different one at work.

In the summer I don't mind cold tea, but now that it's winter I find it pesty that my tea gets cold while I'm away from my desk at meetings. So I made a tea cozy for work, and an insulated rest for my mug. That should help considerably!
