Our production of The Frog Prince is a community effort. While Missoula Children’s Theatre brings directors, costumes, and sets, we rely on parent volunteers to make the week run smoothly.
Here’s a summary of all the ways you can help!

Interested in helping keep the Strandwood play tradition going strong? We’re looking for two parents to shadow this year’s Production Co-Chairs (Sarah Ruby and Lindsey Leaf) and learn the ins and outs of bringing our MCT production to Strandwood. This is a behind-the-scenes learning role with an eye toward stepping into a Co-Chair position in a future school year. No theater experience necessary!

Ensure that the two Tour Actor/Directors from Missoula Children’s Theatre are comfortably housed during the week. This may involve coordinating with the school, local hotels, or host families.

Organize ticket sales in advance and at the door. Track reservations, distribute tickets, and work with Front of House volunteers on Performance Day.

Create the program that will be handed out at each performance. This includes gathering cast names, sponsor logos, and required MCT program notes. (Template provided and printing costs reimbursed.)

Procure and deliver supply of healthy snacks for students during rehearsals throughout the week and on Show Day. Coordinate with rehearsal volunteers to distribute snacks during breaks. (Cost of snacks reimbursed.)

Help with student check-in at the start of auditions and supervise children while they wait their turn. (2.25-hour audition shift on Monday after school)

Supervise children while they are waiting for their scenes and help keep the environment safe and positive. (2.25-hour rehearsal shift on Monday; two 2.25-hour shifts Tuesday - Friday available)

M.U. Set-Up Crew (6 needed): Help set up chairs and tables in our "theater" before the first performance on Saturday (45-minute shift)
Front of House Volunteer (12 needed; six per performance): Check in performers, greet families, usher, and help with ticket collection before each performance (1.75-hour shift)
Dressing Room Volunteer (12 needed; six per performance): Stay backstage to assist students with costumes, quick changes, and keeping the dressing area calm and organized (2- or 3-hour shift)
Photographer (2 needed): Capture high-quality photos of one of the shows, backstage moments, and group shots of the cast. Photos will be shared with families afterward. (90-minute shift)
Videographer (1 needed): Film one of the performances in the theater for distribution to parents. Must be able to provide video equipment and steady filming. (90-minute shift)
M.U. Take-Down Crew (10 needed): Assist with breaking down chairs and tables, costume return, set strike, and loading the truck after the final performance on Saturday (45-minute shift)
