Who We Are
DIVERSITY
We are parents and children and single people. We are mechanics and teachers and cleaners and office workers, actually, from all walks of life. We come from different places and speak different languages. But first and foremost we are all Christians. We are all sinners saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus has made us one with him and with fellow believers. We are united in Christ and dedicated to serving him as our Lord. SCRIPTURES
We believe the one true God exists in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each of these persons is fully God – yet there are not three gods, but one. The Congregation is based on the foundation of the Holy Scripture of the Old and New Testament, the Word of God inspired by the Holy Spirit as the sole source and guiding principle of our faith and doctrine. The confessions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church are acknowledged as the true and binding exposition of the Holy Scriptures; specifically the three supreme articles of faith of the Christian Church (the Apostolic, Nicene and Athanasian creeds), the Unaltered Augsburg Confession and its Apology, the Smalcald Articles, the Large and the Small Catechism of Dr. Martin Luther and the Formula of Concord.
SACRAMENTS
We believe the sacraments to be places where the presence and power of Jesus are tangible and transformative. We baptize people at any age, infant or adult, in the confidence that this is the tradition of the early church and evidence of the grace and undeserved love of God. We believe the Lord’s Supper to be a gift of God, which communicates the bodily presence of Jesus and the forgiveness of sins and renews our relationship with God and neighbor.
