Storm Coast Cattery Presents
The Storm Coast Monthly Shedu Show features a variety of disciplines for Shedu Cats and Asauchi horses of all levels and types to compete in. Available classes are swapped out each month (In-Hand and English one month, Western and Other the next), except for Specialty Classes which have new opportunities every month. The judging is effort based, but uses a simple rubric for a more relaxed experience.

Rules
The below rules apply to all classes.
Both art and literature entries are accepted and will be entered into the same classes together.
Setting
The settings for these classes can take place anywhere in the world. However, they must feature the following:
An arena or show grounds of some form. This is usually a fenced-in area with a dirt or turf footing. See the class descriptions for more guidelines on setting/backgrounds for each class.
The setting can either be indoors or outdoors, except where otherwise noted
Obstacles/objects appropriate for the class (jumps for Show Jumping, barrels for Barrel Racing, etc.) must be featured where applicable.
For classes where no obstacles/objects are used, cat's/Asauchi's movements/posing should be accurate to the class (Ex. Dressage, Halter, etc.). See the class descriptions for more guidelines.
General Class Rules
Competitors can only enter one shedu/Asauchi per class, but can enter as many different classes as they like. Shedu and Asauchi are judged separately, so, for example, players may enter one shedu in shedu show jumping, and one Asauchi in Asuachi show jumping in the same month.
Players may only enter either one art entry or one literature entry per class, not both
Commissioned (or AP payment) entries are allowed. Prizes go to the owner of the cat/Asauchi, not the person who did the entry (unless otherwise noted by cat's owner).
No previous show experience is needed to enter any classes
All sub-species of shedu can enter all classes unless otherwise noted in the class description
Handlers/riders must be at least 12 years of age unless otherwise noted. Kids should be handling/riding shedu/asauchi that are an appropriate size for them (no 12-year-olds showing full-grown Komainu, for example)
Riders/Handlers must be wearing appropriate attire for their class, though attire can still be casual (no shorts and tank tops, basically)
Shedu/Asauchi must be wearing tack except where otherwise noted (see class descriptions for details)
Both Official and Streetbred cats may enter
Feral shedus may enter, but they must be depicted fully healed
Minor mishaps may be depicted, but serious mishaps like falls cannot be depicted. Some examples of what mishaps can be depicted are: knocking down a rail in show jumping, inaccurately performing a dressage movement, hitting a barrel in barrel racing, etc.
I (Storm-Coast) may enter my own shedus/Asauchi in these classes, but my entries will automatically place last unless I am the only entry in that class. (Ex. If there are three total entries in the class (including mine), I place 3rd)
Art Entry Guidelines
Art must be original and made for this show (no premade lineart/ reused art pieces)
Tracing is allowed as long as the reference images are credited in the description of the entry
AI generated images are not allowed in any form. Competitors found to be using AI will be disqualified, and could potentially be banned from entering future shows.
A minimum of a toned/colored half-body shedu/Asauchi with a simple or photo background is required for all entries
A handler is required for all entries except where otherwise noted
All backgrounds must be unique to each piece, and cannot be reused for multiple entries
Photo backgrounds are allowed, but will only earn 0.5 pts. Photos must be stock/open source images and need to be linked in the description.
Photo manipulated backgrounds with considerable editing/changes can qualify for more points, as long as all stock images used are linked in the description. Photos used must be relevant to the class.
Entries should depict their cat/Asauchi and handler actively participating in the class itself. Meaning, entries should not show their teams wandering around the show grounds, getting ready, etc.
Literature Entry Guidelines
A minimum word count of 600 is required for all entries
Literature must be both Syntactically Accurate and Mechanically Proper as outlined by the shedu Literature AP Guide
Entries can only be written in English at this time
AI generated literature is not allowed in any form. Competitors found to be using AI will be disqualified, and could potentially be banned from entering future shows.
The subject of the literature piece must focus primarily on the cat/Asauchi and handler/rider's participation in the class. Meaning, at least 90% of the literature piece must be about your team directly competing in the class, while the other 10% can focus on your team arriving, getting ready, etc. The entry should not heavily feature stories/events outside of the show itself.
The entry must primarily feature the shedu/Asauchi entering the class. Spending significant time describing/discussing other cats/Asauchi is not allowed.
Basically, don't add miscellaneous details just to increase the word count. The content should be relevant to the class.
