August Specialties:

Herding Trial

Handler must guide their shedu using only voice commands, whistles and hand signals to herd three sheep between marked posts, and then finally through a gate into a small pen.

• Handler: Not required

• Shedu Tack: A collar or halter required

• Setting: Closed-in arena/field (indoor or outdoor)

• Obstacles: Posts and a pen can optionally be depicted

• Other: At least one sheep must be depicted

• Restrictions: None, open to all shedu

Mounted Archery

Handlers ride their shedus through a course while they shoot targets with a bow.

• Handler: Required

• Shedu Tack: Western, English, or Traditional Archery Tack required

• Setting: Outdoor arena/field/archery course

• Objects: Round red and white archery targets can optionally be depicted

• Other: Rider must be shown using a bow and arrows

• Restrictions: None, open to all shedu

Granted to the shedu with the highest combined score (sum of all their entry scores for the month).

To qualify, each shedu must enter at least two classes in the same month.
