Snowplow Sam levels are introductory skating lessons designed for beginning skaters. Classes include:
15-minute group lesson with a Learn to Skate Certified Coach
15-minute free skate
Basic 1, 2 & 3

Basic Skills teaches the FUNdamentals of ice skating. The progressive levels introduce skills including forward and backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, and turns.

The Bridge Program is designed to help skaters make the transition—or “bridge”—between the group lessons of the Learn to Skate program and the more independent skating environment of Junior/Senior ice.
The Bridge Program is for skaters who have passed Free Skate 1 AND have a coach’s recommendation.
Bridge skaters will focus less on traditional Learn to Skate testing and more on developing the skills needed to:
Work independently and practice safely on the ice
Prepare for Skating Skills tests
Develop Singles skills
Explore Pattern Dance
Build confidence during self-directed practice
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Bridge skaters receive a 15-minute group lesson and 30 minutes of skating time from 6:45–7:30 PM.
After the ice cut, Bridge skaters return to the ice from 7:45–8:15 PM and skate alongside Junior/Senior skaters. This additional ice time helps skaters develop independence, practice skills, and become comfortable with the Junior/Senior skating environment.
Bridge-level skaters may also purchase Sunday ice, which includes a group lesson and 30 minutes of free skate.

At the Junior/Senior level, private coaching is strongly recommended. Private coaching fees are not included in club fees. The club provides ice time only, and coaching arrangements and fees are handled separately.
To skate at the Junior level, skaters must have passed Free Skate 3 or have a coach’s recommendation.

Families of Junior/Senior skaters are expected to assist with playing music during skating sessions or pay the designated monetary fee in place of volunteering.

Skaters must have a current U.S. Figure Skating membership ($85). SLFSC will renew memberships and invoice skaters who have not yet renewed.
Junior/Senior Guest Skater Fee: $30
Family Discount any family with 3 or more skaters will receive a discount of 20% on the 3rd,4th,5th...etc. Disclaimer: Skaters must be from the same household. Only applies to skaters under the age of 18, and the lowest packages will receive the discounted rate first.
