PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR
Brief Bio: Sucheta started her research career as a CSIR JRF at the Center for Plant Molecular Biology, Osmania University, Hyderabad, where she worked on Genetic Transformation of Indian Cotton Cultivars. Subsequently, being influenced by friends and family, she took up PGDST at NCST (an independent R &D unit under Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. Of India, now cDAC). She took up a job as a programmer for a month followed by 2 jobs in Bioinformatics start ups for a couple of years. In 2002 she moved to Virginia Bioinformatics Institute (Now Virginia Biocomplexity Institute) at the Virginia Tech, USA. There she worked extensively on all aspects of microbial genomics, transcriptomics and Bioinformatics. In August 2012, she came back to India and joined Indian Institute of Chemical Biology as a Scientist and Ramalingaswamy Fellow.

Aditi did her M.Sc and Ph.D., in Bioinformatics from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. She worked as Wellcome Trust Early Career Fellow in Molecular Biophysics unit, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. She has joined the lab in 2022. Presently, she is working as DBT BIC Scientist in the project entitled "Platform integration for high Through-put multi omics data analysis and text processing".

Brief Bio:
Bornita has done her M.Sc in Chemistry from Calcutta University and Ph.D from CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, Jadavpur, Kolkata. She has joined the lab as DHR Woman Scientist in 2021. Presently she is exploring the anticancer and antimicrobial properties of the metabolites from the in house cyanobacteria species. She loves to travel and watch travel vlogs.

Brief Bio:
Shashi has done B.Pharm from SHIATS, and M.S.Pharm(biotechnology) from NIPER. He had qualified GATE(2012&2016), CSIR-UGC NET(2014,2016,2017). He joined the lab as CSIR-JRF in early 2018. He has molecular biology experiences, and keen interest to learn bioinformatics. He is currently working in Arthrinium project and also adapting himself in computational biology.

Brief Bio:
Kajal has pursued his B.Sc in Botany from Krishnath College, Murshidabad and completed his Masters in Botany with specialization in Molecular Genetics and Plant Breeding from University of Kalyani. He had qualified GATE 2017, GATE 2018, TIFR- JGEEBILS 2018, CSIR-UGC NET June-2019, CSIR-UGC NET December-2019. He had worked as Junior Research Fellow (Project) in CSIR-IICB from 2018 to 2020 on Plant micro RNA biology. In early 2021, He joined CG Lab as UGC- JRF. He has experiences in Molecular Biology and keen interest to learn Bioinformatics. His research work primarily focused on host- pathogen interaction of Phytopthora capsici. Currently he is working on Genomics and Transcriptomics of P. capsici infection and role of effector proteins in the establishment of infection. Pijush is currently pursuing his PhD program in Bioinformatics from CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology. He has completed his M-Tech in Information Technology (CS) from Jadavpur University. Pijush focuses mainly on data mining and selection of features in various cancer datasets. Recently, he has developed a Bioconductor tool for the selection of significant features (sigFeature). Mayuri has joined this lab as a CSIR JRF on August, 2015. She did her B.Sc (Honours) in Botany from Presidency College, Kolkata and her Masters, that also in Botany from University of Delhi. She is dealing with the biochemical properties of few cyanobacteria having great potential to be used as biofuel producers. Recently she has started exploring into the field of bioinformatics as cyanobacterial transcriptome perspective. Akash has completed his MTech. at the Indian Institute of Engineering Science & Technology, Shibpur. He is also working at the Director's cell at IICB as a programmer. Genome Unified Schema has been widely used world wide and is very robust, but the Oracle framework of this database limits its usage. Especially in developing countries, paying for the license fees every year makes it an expansive option. The present Eumicrobedb.org database is based on GUS schema. Akash will remodel GUS and alter the schema with all the plugins, so that it runs on mysql. Akash favorite passtime is to read novels and blog and I see him online most of the time:) He is also a spelling bee champion and a math whiz.
