Prof. Siba Prasad Adhikary, Head Biotechnology division, Visva Bharati, Shanti Niketan, India
Prof. Siba Prasad Adhikary has been actively involved in Blue Green algae research in India for several decades now. He also happens to be my teacher in Utkal University. We are collaborating with him on our BGA sequencing and metabolic re-engineering program.
Dr. Sanjoy Guha Roy, West Bengal State University, India
Dr. Sanjoy Guha Roy is interested in studying Phytophthora parasitica strains prevalent in India. P. parasitica causes severe damage to important vegetable crop plants and is one of the less studied pathogens. We are collaborating with his group in studying the genomes of this organism and develop diagnostics.
Dr. Anindita Seal, Calcutta University, India.
Prof. Anindita Seal group is involved in understanding the molecular profile that predisposed legumes to nodulation. Her group specializes in molecular biology and biochemistry. Her group will help us understand the functional roles of the genes once they are bioinformatically discovered.
Prof. Brett Tyler, Director, Center for Genome Research and Biocomputing; Stewart Chair in Gene research, Oregon State University, USA.
Prof. Brett Tyler has been my mentor for last 10 years at the Virginia Bioinformatics Institute at the Virginia Tech. He is a leader in plant microbe interactions and discovered the important RXLR motifs in effectors in Oomycetes. His lab focuses on the systems biology of microbe-host interactions, with a focus on the interactions of oomycete pathogens with their hosts. We are collaborating with him on Phytophthora genome sequencing consortium and data hosting.
