Shaila recently graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and a minor in Chemistry. She is currently continuing her education at SDSU as a Master's student in Microbiology.
As a first-generation college student, she is passionate about making science more accessible, supporting students from all backgrounds and getting involved on campus. Her goal is to become a community college biology progressor so she can help others discover their potential in science.
For the past two years, she has been researching microalgae, which as exciting applications in food science, biofuels, and even cosmetics!
Juli is the Program Manager for Northern Californian school districts at Climate Action Pathways for Schools (CAPS). In this role, she focuses on connecting a growing number of student interns with community partners to build more sustainable school districts. With a diverse background spanning education and clean energy, Juli is passionate about finding the intersection between these two fields. Prior to joining CAPS, she spent a year designing and managing student programming at a clean energy agency in the Bay Area, where she supported over 50 students with climate action projects.
Kaveri recently graduated from Gregori High School. She is an incoming freshman at UC Berkeley, where she plans to major in Nutritional and Metabolic Biology. A lifelong math enthusiast, she has completed AP Calculus AB, BC, and AP Statistisc.
She is passionate about helping her peers advance their math skills, and she is excited to share her love for STEM through SYSC!
A fun fact about her is that she has an identical twin.
