The mission of Manara Academy is to provide students with a creative, adaptive and ethical environment to become knowledgeable inquirers and future leaders in a diverse and evolving global society where we master languages, honor cultural heritages, and respect diversity.
"B" week schedule this week!
IPDP hours are due Wednesday, November 15. Please make sure to upload your certificates and update your IPDP log with the completed courses/information by this date. Email me once you have completed the documentation so I can send over the information to HR so you can get your stipend on your Dec 1 paycheck! I cannot submit late documentation to HR, so let me know if you have any questions prior to November 15.
As we continue to grow, our team continues to grow! Please help me welcome the following new teachers to our team:
Mr. Forsythe - Sped Aide (beginning 11/13/2023)
Ms. Bradley - 3rd grade teacher (beginning 11/13/2023)
Ms. Jackson - PK 4 teacher (beginning 11/27/2023)
On the "Little Bins for Little Hands" site, they included some Thanksgiving themed science activities. Below are the links if you would like to include any of the activities for the Friday STEM day before break.
The iPad cart is being stationed in Ms. Lina's 2nd grade classroom currently. Each classroom (Sped, PK3, PK4, KA, KB, 1A, 1B, and 2nd grade) will be assigned 4 iPads each day, with checking them out on a sign out log in located on the cart and returning them each day (hand them to Ms. Lina) to recharge them. Once more iPads are received, more will be designated per grade level. Let me know if you have any questions!
It's fun to share a meal with our team! On Thursday, November 16, we will hold our annual Staff-Giving Potluck event. Sign up below if you would like to bring an item!
Where to put them: 2023-2024 Teacher Resources drive within the STEM folder.
Please make sure to upload your lesson plans & newsletters to the correct folder and on time. If you need help, please let me know!
*Make sure to add Common Sense Media lessons to your lesson plans each week, Paper lessons/expectations, and NewsELA Social Studies lessons!
**Also, remember to include morning work for each day as scholars are arriving/finishing breakfast each morning. Routines are key, and strong morning routines set powerful learning tones for the day!
Thank you to everyone for a first successful week of STAAR Interim testing. I appreciate the thoughtfulness you all are placing in treating the STAAR Interim testing like we want the scholars to perform on the STAAR testing in the spring. Practice does make perfect, so thank you for practicing like we want them to perform!
On Nov. 13 & 16, the Specials schedule will change just a bit. K-2 classes will attend Specials in the morning time when 6-8 normally have Specials (9:30-10:25), and scholars in grades 6-8 will have Specials when K-2 classes normally have Specials in the afternoon (2:30-3:30). Let me know if you have any questions!
