What do I do as an a teacher assistant do?

As a teacher assistant, you will be doing tasks that makes the STEAM class run in the background.  Everyday you will be given a task to complete before a unit starts. Below are the main tasks that must be done by the teacher assistant.

• Perform some classroom organization tasks, which includes:

  • Making copies and collating copies into an organized fashion.

  • Organizing student project kits across all STEAM classes.

  • Organizing materials that will be donated or disposed of.

• Assist with tasks related to the showcase:

  • Co-Masters of Ceremony for the Innovator's Showcase or controllers the lighting and sound booth during the showcase.

  • Helps set up the space for the showcase including the cardboard arcade fest.

• With computer training:

  • Reset computer settings once a school year.

  • Create accounts for students once a school year and as needed.

  • Update operating and app software on laptops and desktops once a month.

• Depending on the class, they will be given the opportunity assist students and/or co-teach with Mr. Aringo if the student has had the class in a prior year.
