Scientist (or Person) of the Week

This is a quick and simple resource for any classroom teacher to use to promote STEAM careers. The basic lesson plan:

• Show one slide per week - I encourage you to make this a regular activity, perhaps every Monday. This is also a good quick time filler if your lesson went too short.

• Before class, choose a slide and (optionally) read the short article linked in the slide about the scientist or person of the week

• Show students the slide, briefly talking about the person and the facts listed on the slide

• Optional: show the short video clip linked on the slide

• Optional: for elementary students, have them practice sentence writing by telling students to write two sentences about the scientist
