Vantablack is a surface "paint" that absorbs over 99.965% of light that hits it. Several artists have used this material to create interesting pieces. Vantablack is made through chemical reactions that create tiny carbon nanotube filaments. These filaments act like a microscopic forest of trees that are really good at absorbing light and not reflecting any light back. If an object absorbs most light, then there is no light to reflect back into our eyes for us to see it. This is why objects covered in Vantablack appear so dark.
The World's Darkest Building - Architect and artist Asif Khan designed an entire building made to simulate looking at stars in space. The temporary building was entirely covered in Vantablack.
