Besides time spent in our school we also visited interesting places in Warsaw
We visited the Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw, one of the most renowned educational centers in Poland. The museum offers interactive exhibits on physical phenomena, optics, and ecological issues – all presented through hands-on experiences
Another educational stop was the "Kamień" Vistula River Education Center, beautifully located by the river. This space is dedicated to ecological education for Warsaw’s residents. Visitors can join workshops, borrow equipment for birdwatching, and learn about the flora and fauna of the urban river ecosystem.
Thre was an exciting moment when everyone had the chance to try traditional wood-splitting methods, turning hard work into fun learning.
Our guests took part in various STEAM workshops led by our teachers and external educators. Marek, our forest educator, led an engaging session on water purity testing. Together with the children, participants explored how to measure water quality and learned about freshwater ecosystems
Our exploration of Warsaw continued with a visit to the Warsaw Uprising Museum, where our guests could learn more about the city’s wartime history and the heroic 1944 uprising. A walking tour through the city center and the charming Old Town, guided by Sylwia, gave our visitors a deeper understanding of Polish culture and history. Of course, we couldn’t miss trying traditional Polish pierogi!
Marek also introduced our guests to the University of Warsaw Library rooftop gardens – a peaceful green oasis in the city and one of the largest rooftop gardens in Europe. With views of the Vistula and surrounding cityscape, the gardens showed how modern architecture can harmonize with nature.
