Postscript

Saturday 2 April 2022, Union Canal Bridge 15, Ratho.


Scottish Canals Chief Operating Officer Richard Millar spoke from the stern of the Seagull Trust Cruises boat St John Edinburgh, moored under the bridge, and paid tribute to the contribution of the late Ronnie Rusack towards the success of the Scottish Lowland Canals. Ronnie was the former landlord of the Bridge Inn in Ratho and the initiator of Restaurant Boat cruising on the Union Canal. He led volunteer groups in supporting the canal.


A plaque renaming the bridge "Rusack's Bridge" was unveiled by Ronnie's grandchildren before a crowd of about 200 people.
