Postdoctoral Researchers

Dr. Aggeliki Doxa is a fellow postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Applied and Computational Mathematics, Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (IACM – FORTH). She holds a BSc in Environmental Sciences (University of the Aegean, 2004), a MSc in Ecology, Biodiversity & Evolution (University Pierre et Marie Curie, 2005) and a PhD in Ecology (Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle-Paris & University of the Aegean, 2009). Her main scientific interests lie in the understanding of climatic and land use heterogeneity impacts on population and community dynamics of terrestrial and marine species, with a particular focus on optimizing conservation planning at the local and large scale in the Mediterranean region. She has worked as a researcher at a number of international centers and organizations: Pierre et Marie Curie University, Ecology and Conservation Science Centre – National Museum of Natural History, Functional and Evolutionary Ecology Center, Institute of Evolution Sciences of Montpellier, Mediterranean Institute of marine and terrestrial Biodiversity and Ecology - University of Aix-Marseille, Instituto Mediterráneo de Estudios Avanzados and the Joint Research Centre. Dr. Doxa has published about 20 papers in scientific journals and conference proceedings and possesses extensive experience in data analyses using statistical methods and machine learning tools.
