Sofia Triantafyllou

Sofia Triantafyllou serves as an assistant Professor at the University of Crete, Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics. She holds a Diploma in Applied Mathematics and Physical Studies from the National Technical University of Athens, and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Crete. After completing her PhD, she did post-doctoral studies at Northwestern University and the University of Pennsylvania. From 2018-2021 she was an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh. She has more than 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences and is a co-investigator in two NIH-funded projects. Her research interests include causal discovery and causal inference, and their applications in various domains. She is currently working on developing Bayesian statistical methods for combining observational and experimental data to predict post-intervention outcomes.
