Staff Wellbeing Summer Festival 2023

Our Summer Festival is back for another 2 weeks this year and it's better than ever! We have a jam packed two weeks filled with workshops, health checks, craft afternoons and much more! Check out what's on offer below. 

All workshops and events are completely free to attend, but you do need to be a member of NUH. When signing up to events, please use your NUH email.

Health Checks

Checks include cholesterol, blood pressure and body composition. Lifestyle advice and information will also be available as well as information on wellbeing support services.

Please sign up to the time you would like to book your appointment, all appointments are 10 minutes. Places are very limited, if for any reason you become unable to attend your slot please let us know so we can release this slot for another staff member.

As part of the Wellbeing Festival we are holding workshops on how to cope with stress and anxiety. Please come along if you would like to learn more about how stress and anxiety can impact your mental health and give you time to reflect on your current ways of coping. These sessions will also explore a range of techniques and practical advice to help boost your confidence managing these emotions.

These yoga classes are designed to take care of mind, body and spirit, and so will consist of a variety of practices to look after your entire being. All classes are suitable for beginners upwards. Please wear comfortable, dignity-upholding clothing on the day and please note, shoes are not to be worn on the mats. Ideally, avoid eating an hour before class. Small snacks eg a piece of fruit etc are fine. Thank you for your understanding.

The mat-based classes are suitable for those who can get up and down from the floor unaided and mats will be provided. There is the option of the desk yoga classes for those who would find the mat-based class inaccessible. Please note, I am not pregnancy yoga trained.

Have you ever noticed that you eat automatically, not focusing on your food? Do you actually stop, sit down and savour the flavour or are you rushing around and not paying attention to what you are eating?

In this experiential workshop you will learn a variety of mindfulness techniques including eating with awareness and self-kindness. You will learn to listen to your body’s cues to help guide your decisions surrounding what, when, where and how you eat your food. Mindful eating is a transformative approach to help us change our relationship to food which has been shown to contribute to enhanced physical and mental wellbeing. The workshop will be one hour long and facilitated by UK registered mindfulness teachers.

This menopause seminar is for all individuals who are simply interested in learning more about the menopause or due to, currently going through, or have gone through the menopause.

In this seminar we will explore what occurs during the perimenopause/ menopause/ post menopause, the symptoms and treatment options.
