Solar on Public Safety Building Carports
Panels are mostly installed and completion likely this month. More details at https://www.meridian.mi.us/community/green-meridian/solar
The solar system for the Public Safety Building will consist of 101 solar panels. This is a 41 kilowatt (kW) system that will produce about 47,000 kilowatts per hours (kWh) of electricity. This system is approximately twice the size of the existing ground mounted system also at the Municipal Building and is slightly larger than the system on the South Fire Station. The Public Safety Building system will offset about 17% of electric use and is estimated to pay for itself in 11 years.
