Thoughts on EC Membership
I appreciate so much interest in the Environmental Commission (3 applications)! It may be hard for our Township Supervisor, Pat Jackson, and others to make a recommendation! She welcomes our input should we choose to offer it.
If I understand our Rules of Procedure, it seems like we can "officially" have 7 members (plus a Trustee rep, staff, and 2 or more Student & Student Alternates).
Ned has indicated interest in scaling back. Unless he changes his mind, we have one opening for a regular member, and an opening for one or two Students (which could also be “Alternates”).
Also – Courtney was hired as Parks Director! Congrats!!! We may need a new Trustee Liaison next year. If any others are thinking of scaling back on the Commission – or changing roles (Commission Liaison, etc.), it might help to know.
My personal preference is to work/play/engage with people and groups who are interested, passionate, and excited. This is one of the things I like about my job -- and working with our many "committees" - Green Team, Energy Team, Green Dialogues, Green Grantees, etc. not to mention the EC!
That said, as we refine and set our Goals (last update, besides Climate Sustainability Plan, occurred in 2022), I encourage you to think about the committees, projects, topics, etc. that interest you the most. What's missing... what should be added? What's not exciting... or seems more like "work"?
