Mass streamed 10 am daily - Saturday 5.30pm and Sunday 10.30 am (See Newsletter for latest updates on Church Openings)
Our Parish of St Anne and St Bernard hold our ‘Messy Church’ on the second Saturday of every month in St Anne's House (immediately adjacent to St. Anne’s Church) beginning at 2.30pm. Everyone is invited - young and old alike, children, teenagers, carers, grandparents. Come as friends, families or partners, or come on your own, all comers are welcome!
Entrance is Free but any donations help provide for the resources we use.
All we ask is if you are a child you will need to bring an adult with you.
We begin with one hour of crafts and games chosen to follow a religious theme e.g. Christmas, Easter, Creation etc. In our five years we have never repeated a theme!
After one hour we go into Church to hear more and raise the roof to celebrate what we have thought of as we worked our crafts. We enjoy just being together.
Meanwhile in the Hall we have just left, our ‘happy mess’ is cleared away and we come back to share a scrummy meal together.
It is a once a month creativity worship, and eating together, to meet Jesus and belong to a local Church in a way everyone can feel at home.
As Rowan Williams wrote 'I wish you joy in the midst of the mess and every blessing from the God of ordinary, untidy, surprising things.'
The Messy Church Project is currently run by Frances Ripley.
