I have recently been participating on some of the competitions on DesignFootball.com, one of them being a weekly crest design. I decided to throw my hat in the ring and flex my creative muscles a bit.
This first attempt was for Los Angeles FC. I decided to go simple here. The shape is taken from the team's wing icon on their current crest, which I mirrored, duplicated, then flipped, creating an art-deco style diamond shape. I also created a "LAFC" monogram to fit the interior diamond shape. Overall, I went with a retro feel that didn't feel too deviated from the team's current aesthetic.
I also decided to work on some new templates and elements on Photoshop, all courtesy of TemplateFC.com. I continued with some of the art-deco styling, with a pattern once used by Fluminense and gold accents. It's not the most polished piece of work, but I would say it isn't bad for my first type using Photoshop this way.
