Pretty simple idea here: each week a new club is given, and the premise is to design a new crest, whether that be a completely rethinking, or small tweaks here and there.

My first entry in this contest was one that I was eager to try my hand at. LAFC has a good amount of art-deco inspiration, and many of the entries blended this with a healthy dose of angel imagery. I decided on using the wing from the current crest and using it to create a new shape, which ended up resembling a diamond. To fill the empty space, I create a LAFC monogram that fit the shape.
One of the most iconic clubs in the world, FC Barcelona doesn't really need much change. I decided to simplify the crest rather than start from scratch. There is only one shade of red now, the more distinct ruby red, and black is completely dropped. The FCB monogram is moved above the crest, and the divider stripe is thinned out. Other than those main details, some other things around the crest are cleaned up. Looking back, I would have probably made some more distinct differences, but I do think this crest would serve as a nice update.

CR Flamengo is one of the most well-known clubs in Brazil and is also known for their signature red and black striped kits, which their current crest reflects. For this overhaul, I simplified the look, and made it a bit more unique. I started off by bringing the "CRF" monogram out of the corner in made it the center focus. I also replaced the horizontal stripes with something a bit more exciting: a wave pattern taken from the mosaics found at Copacabana Beach, a Rio de Janeiro icon (Flamengo is based in Rio). Equal parts fun and functional, this concept allows CR Flamengo to express their home city a bit more.
CF Monterrey is located in Mexico, and their crest is simple: A white and navy striped badge with an M. While I like the simplicity, I wanted to create something a bit more unique using the same elements. I kept the bottom of the shield shape the same, but the top now resembles the mountains surrounding the city. The M is moved to the top and follows the crest shape, and the stripes now have a more uniform thickness. Something a bit more sophisticated, but too much of a deviation.
After a brief hiatus from the CRCW competition, I decided to dive back in with an entry for Italian club AS Roma, who just won the inaugural Europa Conference League. I went with a more colorful option, using the famous 1979-80 ghiacciolo/ice pop kits, which featured a red/orange/yellow/white rainbow design. The Lupetto icon, which appeared on those shirts, appears in the center of the crest. The resulting look is a bit more vivid than what AS Roma currently wears but holds a lot of meaning in its retro-inspired details.
Vanuatu is a small Pacific island nation just east of Australia, with a population of around 300,000 people. Despite their size, Vanuatu has some great imagery to draw upon, especially for a redesign of their national team's crest, which could use an upgrade. I focused on a black base, with some yellow and green, which round out the team's color scheme. A chevron at the bottom of the crest resembles a V for Vanuatu, while the traditional boar tusk symbol makes an appearance in the middle, with a pentagon at the center of it mimicking a detail of the current crest. A bit more colorful and modern than their current offering, while blending in some native symbolism.
