Resources will be loaded soon.

The adoption by 45 states of the Common Core Standards affords school librarians a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to position themselves as instructional leaders in their buildings, bringing the teachers together to answer the question: “How is the Common Core done?” In the process, librarians will propel inquiry and our profession to the forefront of the Common Core conversation.

The 2012 NYLA/SSL Institute, Lead with the Common Core, will feature the NYC School Library System team of Dr. Barbara Stripling, Olga Nesi, Elizabeth Naylor Gutierrez, and Leanne Ellis. Using the NYC Information Fluency Continuum and Common Core Alignment documents during this reflective and active day-and-a-half institute, you will develop and learn how to use a number of practical and immediately useful tools to begin implementing the Common Core. You will leave both empowered and excited to lead with the Common Core in your school.

Presenters: Olga Nesi, Elizabeth Naylor-Gutierrez, Dr. Barbara Stripling, Melissa Jacobs-Israel and Leanne Ellis
