The Champions Committee have decided that the SQC Champion of the Year for 2025 will go to a woman who has changed the landscape of war. Her leadership has shown resilience and determination for justice. 

The Champions Committee has decided to award the SQC Champion of the Year for 2025 to Navanethem Pillay. She has been awarded for her exemplary courage and outspoken stance in upholding international law and human rights. 

Dr. Pillay has been the chair of the United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory during which she has pioneered for peace and justice to be received by the Palestinian people, and the victims of the Gaza war.
