This website has SO many free resources that can help you learn how to read music and also understand how it is notated. And, BONUS: Some are GAMES!!! There are teaching elements, practice elements, as well as reference tools. Below is an explanation of what is available in the different tabs:
Lessons Tab: These "lessons" explain the different elements of musical notation, including how to read them and what they mean. This covers an extremely wide range of concepts, beginning with rhythmic notation, and ending with analyzing chordal structures of music.
Exercises Tab: This is an excellent resource, and it is here that you will find the GAMES! Here, you can find customizable practice exercises for the elements learned or explained in the Lessons Tab. They break it down into different types of exercises, all of which include beginning-level concepts through advanced:
Identification: Quizzing yourself on recognizing what you see.
