Here you'll find all the information you should need for the race on Sunday. Please spend 5 mins reading it.
Directions/Travelling Info:
From South Wales - M4 J23, then M48 J2. Head towards Chepstow, round the roundabout, down through the town, across the bridge (Tesco on your right), right turn signed Sedbury/Beachley.
From the North/ Bristol/the South West/the East - depending on where you come from, M4 or M5. Get to the Severn Bridge (M48) into Wales. Come off the motorway straight away at M48 J2, then directions as above. You can see if the bridge is open or not Here (there is also a great app 'Enviroute' that shows bridge status) although it might be easier to check on AA/google maps planner. If shut, you will have to go over the M4 second Severn Crossing, then at J23 join the M48 and head to Chepstow as above. This will add on c.20 mins to your journey time.
From Hereford or anywhere that way, maybe drop to Monmouth and along the Wye road to Chepstow possibly quickest (that's a guess).
The Severn Bridge should be open at the weekend. Weather forecast is fine and no strong winds.
If you head to Beachley you can't miss it. The road goes straight to the River Severn and nowhere else. If you go straight on you will end up in the river...
Sat-nav postcode NP16 7HS should get you there.
Car Parking
Car Parking will all be signed and marshalled from the road. Car parking is just off the road on the grass field edge and/or hardstanding and all within a short walk from race HQ.
Please only park where you are told! A map of CP's can be found near the bottom of the page.
Please note, you will be unable to leave the car park until 12.00 pm (or whenever the last runner has finished if earlier) apart from if you really need to. This is because you would be driving straight out onto the finishing section of the course.
Timings
You can arrive from 09.30 am.
Do not arrive later than 10.40 am. Not a disaster if you do, but you won't have time to warm-up/go to the loo etc.
There will be a very short race briefing at approx 10.58, but please familiarise yourself with the route beforehand
Race start will be at 11.00 am or very close to it.
Race HQ
Race HQ is the Community hall.
Number pick-up is inside the main hall.
Toilets
Men's and Women's in Race HQ -
Toilet Advice:
Go at home, and go again. There is plenty of toilet roll.
There are sparse and wooded areas to the West, just so long as no one can see you. Please do not pee in full view of any houses!
The women will be fine (4 cubicles), but there is likely to be a larger queue for the men's toilets (2 cubicles + 2 urinals).
Baggage
Your car will be parked very close. You may leave things in the hall at your own risk.
Number Pick-up
You will pick up your race number on the day inside the hall.
Race Numbers should be sorted numerically so you should only need to give your name and club to collect your number.
DO NOT swap race numbers.
Your numbers have timing chips stuck to the back. Please don't peel them off! The numbers are quite large, so if you would like to fold them and make them more aerodynamic, then you can do so... as long as the number is clearly visible and you don't damage the chip.
Please fill in the back of the number with your details/emergency contact/medical info. If you don't, and something happens you'll have only yourself to blame.
When you start and finish the race, try not to obscure your number as we need to see this on the back-up video camera. You can start and stop your watch with your arms in a low position rather than in front of your chest. This also blocks/covers the chip signal and could lead to it not being picked up. If you have a minute read this excellent advice about it.
First Aid
SARA are on site in charge of first aid provision. If at any time you feel unwell (even pre-race) tell a marshal/official.
The Weather
Should not be much wind, but may be wet and 8 degrees so dress appropriately for the conditions.
Starting Process
There will be a mass start at approx 11.00
We will not start before this time, but may start later if there is e.g. a car in the starting straight.
Remember that the front of the race will consist of men running 30 mins, so please find your appropriate place on the start line. As it is chip timed, you do not need to fight to get to the front.
Race Etiquette
Help each other out. If it's a windy day and you're in a pack, take a turn. You'll get a quicker time if you work together.
The Course
Race Licence and AUKCM certificate. For those interested here is the original measurement guide
A measured 10km course. An out, two dumbbell shaped laps, and a back.
All km marks are signed. They may not be in the exact position but attached to the nearest lamppost/pole although will always be within a few seconds of the exact distance.
Remember it is two laps, so you will come across the 6 km marker before the 2 km for instance! Although you shouldn't really get confused.
It is very flat and fast even with the number of corners and there are good long straight sections to build up speed.
The start has a right hand bend after 100m but then you have a good 400m straight before turning left on to the main road.
You then head clock-wise starting the laps, heading North up Beachley Rd and then turning into Loop Rd/Inner Loop Rd. South down Beachley Rd and around Old Coach Road. Repeat.
After doing that twice, head back up the start road and follow it round to finish.
Please note that there are two low speed bumps on the course - one on the start/finish straight and one on Old Coach Road.
Be careful on some of the corners as they may be slippery and uneven due to the weather.
All junctions and turns are marshalled and/or signed.
The roads are open to traffic - because there is only the one road as it's a peninsula surrounded by rivers and it goes to the army camp and the lifeboat station (so no chance of getting it closed off), but it should be quiet on Sunday and all the residents are aware of the race.
However, if a car is coming straight towards you... please run to the side of it.
You must run on the LEFT hand side of the main road (that is, Beachley road, the only 2-lane road), unless told to by a marshal. Take care at the northern and southern end turnings, where you will be crossing the road. The course will be marked and marshalled around these areas. Please do not cross over the main road at the top of the course until you get to the marshals. This is for your safety.
There will be a lead bike at the front.
There will be 2 runner sweepers at the back.
Drinks Station
Water will be available at approx 5.2 km. It will be in bottles ideally with a squeezy cap lid.
Finish
This will be under our inflatable race arch with finish clock.
Please do not obscure your race number as you cross the line so the video back-up can get a clear view of it.
After you cross the finish line mats, DO NOT go back over them with your number and chip on. You'll be funnelled away from the finish area and out into the open. Feel free to warm-down on the field or track, go to the loo (again you must wear your facemask etc).
There will be water bottles near race HQ not far from the finish.
Results
All results should be put on the race website/Twitter/Facebook not long after the race. They will be provisional at first and made official once any queries are sorted out.
The official result will then be uploaded to Run Britain and the Po10 (although these are currently being revamped).
On the day itself, we will take photos of the results and post them online as soon as possible so you can all have a look.
There won't be a prize giving as such (as all money is done via bank transfer afterwards), however we will announce the top 3 overall, category and team winners so that there is some recognition given on the day. This is likely to be done between 12.00-12.15.
Prizes
Details of prizes are on the Prize page. 'Prize Structure Winter 2026' is the relevant section there. There may be some slight changes on the day. All prize winners will be contacted after the event to arrange bank transfers.
Refreshments
Please bring your own food and drink for after the race. If you need extra water there is a small kitchen area and outside tap.
Departure
Once the last runner has finished after 12pm you will be free to jump in your car and leave the area if you want to. You are welcome to stay parked on site until late afternoon however we will be clearing away so you may not have access to the hall.
We look forward to seeing you there!
