Internships

Per CAS Standards for supervised practice in student affairs Master’s curriculums, students should:

Have a minimum of 300 hours of supervised practice consisting of at least two distinct experiences
Have regular and direct on-site supervision
Begin their internship only after completing a sequence of basic foundational courses

For SAAHE, the requirements are:

Minimum 150 hours
Internship experience must be distinctly different than what you do in your GA

Thought my internship, I served as the Conference Services Coordinator within Carolina Housing. This position allowed me to supervisor 20+ conference assistants, help in the ideation and implementation of a new conference assessment, and so many other things!

My internship was with the Orientation, New Student and Transition Programs where I worked in the spring semester to help plan summer orientation for incoming students.

Since Guilford did not have an on-campus Orientation in 2025, I supported the asynchronous on-boarding process for new students by coordinating with administrators across campus and contacting students identified as at-risk of enrollment melt.
