It has 19 short years since the master's in Higher Education (SAAHE program, formerly known as SPAHE) as we know it today was reimagined to what it is today. UNCG's history of Higher Education, however, goes back much further. the first course in Higher Education (The Community College) was offered in 1967 under "Educational Administration." Around 1970, the first courses in Higher Education were developed and offered. Sometime in 1975, the master's degree program in Higher Education was officially established.
A number of factors including the availability of opportunity in the Piedmont Triad, dedicated Student Affairs staff, outstanding students and alumni, cutting edge curriculum, and exceptional faculty all make the SAAHE master’s program a superior educational experience.
Greensboro is an ideal place to study higher education because of the large number and diversity of institutional types not only in the Piedmont Triad (Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point) area but also with the Charlotte area as well as the Triangle area (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel-Hill).
