Opportunities for Regional Collaboration
RMCT represent Riverland, Murray Mallee and Coorong regional areas. Hosted by Kay Stillwell, Collaborative Project Officer, the focus of the workshop was on opportunities for collaboration.
Development of two different approaches to foster connection, build capacity and offer workforce wellbeing have occurred in 2022.
Weaving Toward Wellness and Speed Dating the Standards. Delivered in 3 locations to around 50 participants from service providers across the regions, from Renmark to Tailem Bend.
Clearing a Customer Service Pathway
Strath Neighbourhood Centre Chairperson, Norma Keily hosted a facilitated session for volunteers of the centre. The topic would be Strategies in managing difficult situations.
The volunteers explored techniques in approaching customers to address diverse needs, a greater understanding about why difficult situations arise and effective communication techniques for better experiences with community members.
The participants gained understanding as to why customers may display challenging behaviours and what to do about it, including strategies to diffuse high emotional situations and ideas for self-care post workplace challenges.
Standards for Aging Well Team Day
Manager Deb Whetstone invited 18 staff from the Aging Well Team at the City of Charles Sturt to undertake a team building day, facilitated by Dana Lavenant. The series if sessions focused the exploration of the Aged Care Standards with the workforce. The data collected form the day identified strengths with in the team, existing knowledge, gaps, areas for development and a consolidated unity across the team.
Opportunities for Regional Collaboration
SCAP represent Barossa, Gawler, Light & Adelaide Plains council and regional areas. Hosted by Debra Anderson, Collaborative Project Officer, the focus of the workshop was on opportunities for collaboration.
During the workshop participants identified current key issues facing the home care sector in the region, explored areas for collaboration and agreed on threads they are keen to act on.
