When a student uses the ideas of a critic or an expert in the field, it defeats the purpose of the assignment. The student misses an opportunity to develop his or her own ideas fluently and convincingly. Violations of the Student Academic Integrity Code, including plagiarism will not be tolerated in Chaffey College Spanish courses. Plagiarism is defined as the misrepresentation of the published ideas or words of another as one’s own. At the discretion of the professor, plagiarism or other violations (including the submission of non-original material) may result in earning zero points for the assignment and/or failing the course. Additionally, the professor may file a Student Academic Integrity Form documenting the violation and may seek other sanctions. The expectations of this class are clear. Your peers and the instructor want to read or hear your own original ideas. Chaffey College Administrative Procedures
Also, I also consider plagiarism when 1) you have your Spanish speaking relative or friend write your responses for you; 2) when you use an online translation software (cross-language plagiarism); 3) when you use ChatGPT. As a penalty, you will not receive any credit and your grade will be a zero! Don't cut corners and have integrity!
