Ten Black Dots is a story that shows readers multiple different you can use black dots. The black dots can be used to make faces, shapes, eyes, and more. This helps students practice number names. Students can also use this concept to make their own objects with black dots, cotton balls, buttons, and more!
In How Do Dinosaurs Count to Ten, different types of dinosaurs including a T-rex, triceratops, Ankylosaurus, and more are learning how to count. They learn to count using childrens toys. As they play with the childrens toys, they eventually reach ten. This helps students practice number names as well as counting in sequential order.
In Counting Crocodiles, all the monkey has to eat from is a lemon tree until one day she comes across a tree filled with bananas. This monkey has to find a way to outsmart the crocodiles that stand inbetween her and the tree. She counts the crocodiles one by one until she reaches ten. She does this forward and backward. This helps students practice number names as well as counting forward and backward in sequential order.
