This week, we are looking at the concepts of positionality and intersectionality. Your CEA this week will be focusing on applying these concepts to your own work in project 2.
Investigate you own positionality.
Begin by listing off as many identity markers as you can think of.
Select three of those identity markers. They can either be the three most impactful or the ones that separate you from your audience the most. Describe the lived experiences of those three markers. (Try to be detailed here.)
Now intersect these three markers and investigate how any (or all) of these markers change.
2. Investigate you audiences' positionality.
Begin by listing off as many identity markers as you can think of.
Select three of those identity markers and explore what the audience’s lived experiences might be.
Now intersect these three markers and investigate how any (or all) of these markers change.
3. What connects you to your audience? What experiences do y'all share?
4. what separates your from your audience?
5. What experiences do you have that help you bridge any gaps between you and your audience?
