In the Diocese of St. Paul, anyone preparing for First Communion must already have had First Reconciliation AND Confirmation. If your child already received these in another parish/Diocese, please contact the Prep team so we can register her/him accordingly.
If you need support in any way with Sacramental Preparation, please contact the prep team by emailing sacramentalp@gmail.com, or through Remind, rather than calling the office.
🌟PARENT WORKSHOP🌟 : please read and then sign up below
At least one parent (or immediate legal guardian) must attend this session (more family adults are welcome!). If your older child(ren) have already been part of Sacramental Preparation, you must still attend this session. Ideally, if only one parent can attend, the parent who will attend classes with the child will attend.
Please DO NOT BRING any children, including the one preparing for Reconciliation. This session is for parents only and there is nowhere for children to "be" and no one to watch them as parents will be engaged in the session.
Parents must attend ONE of the following dates. Your child will not be part of preparation at this time if one parent does not attend the class, as mandated by our Bishop.
DATES: April 15 OR April 21, 2026
TIME: 6:30-8:00 thank you for arriving on time!
LOCATION: St. Dominic Parish Hall
First Eucharist Preparation Classes: May 9 and May 23, 2026. Children and a parent/guardian must attend both classes.
Please bring colouring stuff, a glue stick and scotch (clear) tape. On the first session, if your chid has any type of jersey/team/school shirt, please have them wear it.
Your child will have the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be June 6 11:00 @ St. Dominic church, so that their hearts are prepared for receiving their First Communion. Like Reconcilation at the parish during Advent/Lent, this is not a celebration with readings; it is first come, first serve.
If your family absolutely cannot attend at this time, it is YOUR responsibility to call the office to arrange for your child to receive reconcilaition between Tuesday (June 17) to Friday (June 20) and contact the Sacramental Prep team so we know your child will be receiving first Communion on the weekend.
Your child WILL NOT be eligible for First Communion June 6 or 7 if s/he does not have reconciliation the week or day prior.
Celebration of the First Eucharist: Eucharist (Communion) is celebrated at every mass. Mass is a communal celebration. Therfore, our children celebrate their first Eucharist with our larger faith community during regular weekend masses. It is wonderful to have so many young ones celebrating this sacrament; because we have such a large group, we will have some children celebrate at each mass.
Complete this survey by clicking the blue box to let us know which date your family would prefer to celebrate First Eucharist on.
June 6, 2026
OR
June 7, 2026
Please plan for your child and one adult to arrive at the church at least 20 minutes before the start of mass and connect with the Sacramental Prep team (hall @ St.Dom or foyer @ Assumption).
The rest of your family/party can go directly to your familie's assigned pew upon arrival. One pew will have your child's name on it and because this celebration is part of regular weekend mass, we suggest that any family/friends who would like to sit with your child should arrive relatively early as pews will fill with other parishioners as they arrive, as per any weekend mass.
What to wear? See the home page for more information.
Please recall and share with your party that pictures can be taken after mass, not during mass.
