What should my child wear for any of the Sacramental Celebrations?
REQUIRED: truly, the only requirements are:
- clothing that is clean, in good repair (no rips, for example) and appropriate for mass (no tummy showing, for example)
- shirts must not have writing, pictures or logos on them; a plain t-shirt is fine and does not need to have a collar
- footwear they can walk and stand comfortably in
But what about a traditional black suit/white dress .....?
- You are welcome to dress your child AS YOU WISH, as long as it follows the above guidelines.
- Please do not feel that you need to buy something new/fancy. In our experience, children wear all kinds and outfits ranging from casual to formal and they all experience the true joy of the Sacrament.
- Of course your child is welcome to wear a suit, a traditional white dress and/or whatever your family and culture deem appropriate!
- Girls are NOT required to wear a dress/skirt.
