It's bizarre to think I have only been to New York and I only realised that when I was writing this. Alas, New York is amazing all the same.
I first went back in 2009 in November and it was freezing. There was snow everywhere and I remember thinking if there was anywhere I would want to lose my ear to frost bite, it would have to be New York. I did all of my sightseeing on the first round- NBC Studios, Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building etc etc. At this time, 'Empire State of Mind' was a huge hit and every time I listen to it, I think back and get goosebumps. I can't really explain to you why, but I get nervous/anxious thinking back on my first time in New York. Not because I felt that way when I was there but I think maybe it's because I'm nervous nothing will ever feel like that again.
The second time I went to New York was after spending the summer in Vancouver. I went with one of my friends whose sister had moved to New York and they hadn't seen each other in a year. That trip was less about sight seeing and more about spending quality time together. We ate and we ate and we ate. My friend was a vegetarian and the restaurants they have over there to accommodate not only vegetarians, but also vegans is honestly phenomenal! I ordered a double cheese burger with bacon but the whole thing was vegan and I have never enjoyed a burger so much in my life. It was bizarre.
I would love to go back to New York and do all the sight seeing again, however, I think it's time I expand the list of states I've been to.
