March 2018 - August 2018
One of my favorite places to be employed. I curated and prepared beverages, handled money exchanges, and memorized an extensive drink menu. I loved the environment and relationships I was able to establish with regular customers. As well as, the fast paced mornings we endured with large amounts of customers coming in.
April 2021 - Present
Waitressing has allowed me to learn more of the ins and outs of the retail industry as well as interact with customers helping to develop my communication skills and how to handle conflicts. As a server I had to take accurate drink and food order, communicate with kitchen staff, and be able to explain menu items to customers. I also handled money exchanges and tried my best to ensure customer satisfaction to all of my tables.
March 2021 - January 2022
As a diet tech I assisted patients in curating food orders, by giving suggestions, helping the patient stay within any nutrient restrictions, and answered any questions a patient may have had with the menu. Through working at Essentia I was able to get more exposure in the hospital setting, certain dietary restrictions I may deal with in the future, and further develop my communication skills, and management skills due to the large number of files and reports we had to update and keep track of.
Summers 2019 - 2020 (Seasonal)
As a pickup secretary my main responsibilities were to input date and information recorder on tape recorders about field, the crops in the field, and the amount, stage, and severity of different weeds in those fields. I also did other miscellaneous work such as operate company vehicles to assist my boss, print and email crop reports to farmers, helped with upkeep of equipment. As a farmers daughter I loved being able to continue to be in the fields and learn more about agriculture, an essential part of the economy of the red river valley.
(Summer 2017-18) (September 2019-April 2021)
As a life-guard I oversaw patrons swimming in the pool, making sure everyone was following proper safety rules, I also had the opportunity to teach swimming lessons in private one-on-one sessions and in large group setting as well. I feel life-guarding taught me a lot on how to communicate and talk with children and how to use a variety of techniques to teach someone something new if they do not understand it the first time.
