Game Development Project
Game Development Project
Learnt important processes in the pre-game production, game production and post-game production stages including game development methodology, programming, design techniques and game-testing and quality assurance.
Project Deliverables:
Research of Problem Statement and Pre-Production Presentation
Create a game based on Low-Fi prototype presented previously
Playtesting
Post-Production Presentation
I worked in a group of 5 for this project. We had to discuss ideas based on the problem that we had chosen which was to decrease carbon emissions in Singapore. Here are some parts of my work that I did for the presentation.
For the project, I contributed by modelling all of the game assets in the game with the exceptions of the bus and car. In addition, I also did some parts of the code such as the setting of the destination etc.
Outcome of the Project:
A game created based on the proposed game idea aiming to solve the problem statement.
What I learnt from the project:
The project was different from the others that I had done in school as the main focus of the project was learning the process and pipeline of creating a game with the aim to solve the problem instead of the end product itself. As the project progressed, I learnt more about the processes and how to work in a team in game development. It gave me a better understanding of how the work would be like workplace if I were to work in the game development sector.
