We are a diverse group of stakeholders in the food system that came together in order to improve the environmental, economic, social, and nutritional health of our community.
Identify policy and/or systems issues that can be addressed at various jurisdictional levels of local government.
Engage stakeholders in exploration of issues within the food system; offer opportunities to identify stakeholder concerns, priorities, and suggestions for food policy.
Promote emerging food policy issues as determined priorities through the council.
Assist at least one farmer's market in a priority census tract to accept SNAP benefits.
Identify potential speakers and organize a speakers bureau to address issues as they arise.
Organize public education activities.
Increase education and dissemination efforts to keep the public and SNFC members informed.
Assist with facilitation of the development of collaborative projects and actions.
Be a resource for information for food system organizations on funding for collaborative projects.
Maintain and diversify the Southern Nevada Food Council structure.
