Speed Mode: 'Rush'—builds Chaos with every successful attack
Jumping and spinning at blinding speeds, Sonic tirelessly strikes the enemy
Strategy Mode: 'Slow-mo'—depletes Chaos
Sonic moves at such high speeds that time slows down and he is able to “plot out” his, as well as the team's next few moves (depending on how much Chaos is built up). This is the principal method of setting up large-scale combos/attacks
Ranged+Item
Ranged Mode: 'Cover Fire'—builds Chaos with each successful attack
Armed with the newest Airguns to come out of Zephyr Labs, Tails provides DPS both on the ground and in the air
Item Mode: 'Utility Belt'—depletes Chaos to use items
Tails deploys springs, traps, and turrets in order to aid the team on the battlefield. This is how some large-scale combos are set-up
Aggression+Defense
Aggression Mode: 'Pummel'—quickly expends Chaos when dealing damage
Knuckles punches and kicks his enemies into submission
Defense Mode: 'Tunnel'—quickly builds Chaos when blocking
Knuckles defends his teammates by burrowing and creating barricades and cover around the battlefield. The more damage that is blocked, the more Chaos is built up

Berserker+Support
Berserker Mode: 'Trance'—builds Chaos with each successful attack
Vector enters an uncontrollable trance and rages against enemies with a combination of melee attacks ranging from biting, tail-whipping, and body-slamming
Support Mode: 'Beat'—expends Chaos by applying buffs/debuffs
Vector blasts the battlefield with his raucous beats and concussive blasts, deploying status-buffs from the sidelines. Some combos can only be achieved when the correct Beat is played

Control+Summoning
Control Mode: 'Geomancy'—builds Chaos with the use of Espio’s surroundings
Binding enemies with vines/brush, tremors, and Area of Effect techniques such as changing the weather to favor/hinder specific elements/enemies
Summoning Mode: 'Invoke'—slowly depletes Chaos
It allows Espio to call upon the aid of powerful spirits from The Other Side. While in Spirit Mode Espio cannot be harmed, or helped, and his Chaos depletes. If the Chaos Meter reaches 0 Espio is K.O.'d
