Get moving into Fall: 8-Week Walking Club Challenge 🧣🍂
Get ready to walk farther with the Get moving into Fall Walking Challenge! Over the next 8 weeks, we’ll focus on fun activities, getting up and going outside, and increasing our walking stamina. Each week will have a new goal so make sure to stay on track and have fun!
How It Works:
Complete the weekly walking challenge.
Track your steps and distance for our challenge!
Walk solo, with a friend, or join a group for extra motivation!
Week 1: A Mile is All!
For your first week we are going to aim to do a mile walk 3 times!
A mile walk should be anywhere from 2,000-2,500 steps!
Choose three days of your week for your 1 mile walk.
Week 2: Twice as nice!
For one day this week, do 2 walks in one day!
Try to see if you can do more steps in the second walk of the day!
Week 3 – Sunrise or Sunset
Do one walk during sunrise and one at sunset.
Try to get 4,000 steps total this week!
Share your favorite photo or moment from those walks.
Week 4: Leaves are falling
Go on a nature walk!
Try your best to go on a walk without any music.
Aim for about 5,000 steps
Find a pretty leaf! Take a picture and share it!
Week 5: Steps & Scavenger Hunt
Walk with a scavenger hunt list (e.g., red car, dog, flower, bike, coffee shop).
Take photos of 5 scavenger items you find on walks this week.
Record how many steps you had!
We will have a winner who found 5 cool things and took the most steps
Week 6: Walk & Talk
Call or walk with a friend or family member. Combine social time with step time.
Walk and talk for at least 20 minutes with someone.
Try to take 6,000 steps!
Take a picture with who you walked with!
Week 7: “Walk the Alphabet” Challenge
Walk to find objects, signs, or landmarks that start with each letter of the alphabet (A–Z)
See how many steps you get by doing this
Share any photos of fun things you found along the way
Week 8: Longest Walk Yet!
After all your hard work it's time to see how far you can walk!
Aim for at least 1 hour!
Write down how long you were able to walk + steps, and see how much you have improved from the start of our challenge.
