This summer, we will have visits from local police, firemen & EMTs, students may go on walking trips to the library to sign up for summer reading programs and engage in planned activities, practice weekly for/perform in a talent show, and so much more!

Our related service providers are also planning an incredible culminating Olympic themed field day! Each class will be assigned a country to represent. They will create flags and work on mini- projects in the weeks leading up to field day. On field day they will compete against other classes in head-to-head friendly competitions displaying good sportsmanship, not only applying learned social skills, but utilizing the gross and fine motor skills fostered and developed during ESY programming.

Arrival at Maplewood Middle School cannot occur earlier than 8:20 a.m.
Parents & Guardians WILL NOT make a U-turn at any-time.
Staff members will be present to help and direct students upon arrival to their designated areas.

Departure at MMS

If a child is taking district transportation home, and they wish to attend after school programming (HUB, etc) or town activities, they will need a note from a parent/ guardian allowing your child to leave the premises and not take a bus home. Without permission of the note each day, students MUST get on the bus, as per district policy.
If you are picking up your child, your student must be picked up at 12:30 each day
A staff member will be present during dismissal to assure each student departs with the proper transportation and guardian to ensure the safety of all students.
Parents/Guardians will NOT make any U-turns at any time during dismissal.
Maplewood Middle School will not release a child to anyone other than a parent/guardian without consent, or a release authorization form, and include names of carpool drivers. Parent cooperation in this matter will alleviate traffic congestion in the area and outside concerns about traffic flow.
