Psychology of Learning

The science of learning is an ultimate frontier: AI systems learn through pattern recognition and the development of neural nets. We all benefit from the advances in these fields, but will there be a machine-challenge to the human mind? Is it possible to improve and optimize the process of learning in humans? Are schools fulfilling their tasks?

In general, learning consists of developing and improving mental models. Thinking uses symbols, but where do they come from? How is learning connected with the brain?
