The following are the group activities of the team LAYAG LINDANG during their first exposure to Barangay Lindang from January 3 to 25, 2024.
On the fourth of January 2024, the second day of community exposure, the medical students gathered at the municipal hall of Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay along with their community preceptor, Dr. Michael Site to conduct a courtesy call with Mayor Eric Y. Palma.
During the courtesy call, the medical students introduced themselves to the mayor and vice-versa. The medical students then stated the purpose of their community exposure in the said municipality.The medical students then expressed their gratitude to Mayor Eric Y. Palma for accepting the invitation to allow Barangay Lindang, Diplahan to become a part of their community exposure to learn, experience, and grow in the medical field.
On the 5th of January 2024, the medical students started to gather secondary data for Barangay Lindang.
In order to accomplish this task, the medical students visited several offices including the following: Barangay Lindang Health Station, Diplahan: Rural Health Unit.
The goal was to obtain necessary data that is vital in identifying concerns affecting the health of the people of Barangay Lindang, Diplahan. The agenda ended on the 9th of January 2024.
On the 6th of January 2024, the medical students participated in a Love Drive entitled Barangay Lindang: Clean-Up-Drive.
Along with the barangay captain and community volunteers, the medical students went to the different puroks of Barangay Lindang to pick up the trashes that were scattered on the streets and properly segregated it according to its type of waste - biodegradable, non biodegradable, and recyclable.
On the 8th of January 2024, the medical students held a meeting with the Barangay Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer, and officials in charge of infrastructure, appropriation, Peace and Order, and Human Rights and Industry.
The meeting agenda was to discuss matters related to the House-to-House survey and took place inside the conference rooms of the Barangay Hall
On the 10th of January 2024, the medical students collaborated with the Rural Health Unit (RHU) in the distribution of deworming tablets at Barangay Lindang.
The target population of the Deworming Program is children ages one to four years old. The medical students visited each household of Barangay Lindang, then administered the appropriate dosage of drug to the clients and conducted health teaching to the client’s guardians regarding the drug’s purpose.
On the 10th of January 2024, the medical students began their house-to-house visit to the residents of Barangay Lindang, Diplahan.
The purpose of this activity was to gather the necessary primary data from the people of Barangay Lindang using the survey tool that was formulated by the medical students.
The survey tool consists of questions concerning the individual’s health indicators and how it affects their quality of living. The agenda ended on the 19th of January 2024.

On the 16th of January 2024, the medical students introduced themselves to the 4ps personnel and recipients of Barangay Lindang, Diplahan. The Assembly was held in the Day Care Center.
They offered services like blood pressure taking and health education in terms of proper diet and exercise. The purpose of the activity is to provide cash assistance and to further discuss the 4ps guidelines with its recipients.
On the 17th of January 2024, the medical students visited the Barangay Lindang Elementary School and High School to conduct the Deworming Program for children of five to nineteen years of age.
The medical students did a room-to-room distribution and administration of deworming tablets accompanied with appropriate health education regarding the drug.
On the 19th of January 2024, The medical students assisted the Nurse Deployment Program Nurse (NDP Nurse) and the Barangay Health Workers during the prenatal check-up of the mothers in Barangay Lindang.
They provided services like blood pressure taking, leopold maneuvers and health education.
On the 23rd of January 2024, the medical students assisted in immunization day of the Barangay Health Station.
The target population were pediatric clients that were scheduled to have their respective immunizations in the designated Barangay Health Station.
On the 23rd of January 2024, the medical students attended a Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS) Program.
The goal of this program is to endorse the newly appointed Barangay Nutrition Scholar and orient them about the importance of nutrition for the people of the barangay and his/her duties and responsibilities as a Barangay Nutrition Scholar.
