Topic= The impact of social media on society
Students= 17 to 18-year-old learners at a B2 level of English.
By the end of this project, students will be able to:
Recognize the mechanisms apps use to increase screen time and keep users engaged.
Identify fake information on social networks and understand its impact.
Identify the negative effects of social media on modern society.
Create 2 posts in which students will show that they have applied the content.

Lesson 1: Addictive app design and user engagement mechanisms.
Lesson 2: Fake information and its impact on users.

FINAL TASK:
“Imagine you are a social media influencer who wants to raise awareness about the negative effects of social media. You’ll create a fake Instagram account to post educational content about TWO key issues: addictive app design, and fake news.”
The T will divide students in groups and they will use a fake Instagram generator (e.g., tools like “Zeoob Fake Instagram Generator”) to create a realistic Instagram profile. They must create 2 posts (images and captions) related to the topics of the lessons we will tackle:
Post 1: Highlight how apps keep users addicted.
Post 2: Warn about the dangers of fake information.
Then, the students will present their Instagram accounts, explaining how each post relates to the lessons they’ve learned.
In classes 1 to 2, we are going to explore the different topics and class 3 will be devoted to preparing the final task.
