Supply, Demand and Equilibrium Zones
Supply, Demand & Equilibrium Zones — Interactive
Price doesn't move randomly — it gravitates toward areas of high trading activity and accelerates through zones where little trading has occurred. Understanding where volume has concentrated, and where it hasn't, is the foundation of supply and demand analysis.
Supply, Demand & Equilibrium Zones — Interactive by DGT combines a fully interactive volume profile with intelligent zone detection, giving traders a precise map of where price is likely to find support, resistance, or equilibrium.
Interactive Range Selection
Unlike fixed-lookback indicators, this tool lets you define exactly the price range you want to analyze — simply select your start and end points directly on the chart. An optional extend mode continuously updates the calculation from the start anchor to the latest bar, keeping the analysis live as new data arrives.
Supply & Demand Zones
Low-volume price levels — where little trading activity occurred — are automatically identified and highlighted as potential supply or demand zones. Price tends to move quickly through these areas, making them natural targets for breakout moves and strong directional reactions.
Above the Point of Control, low-volume nodes are marked as supply zones. Below it, they become demand zones. A sensitivity threshold gives full control over how aggressively zones are detected.
Equilibrium Zones
High-volume nodes — price levels where the market spent significant time and traded heavily — are marked as equilibrium zones. These areas represent fair value consensus and often act as magnets for price to return to after extended moves away.
Volume Profile — Common Interest
A full price-by-volume profile visualizes total traded activity across every price level within the selected range. High-volume nodes reveal where the market found agreement. Low-volume gaps reveal where it didn't — and where price may move rapidly if revisited.
The profile can be placed on either side of the selected range and scaled independently for clean chart integration.
Bull & Bear Dominance
A sentiment overlay sits alongside the volume profile, showing buying versus selling dominance at each price level. Green rows indicate levels where buyers were in control. Red rows indicate seller dominance. Narrow rows reveal balanced, contested zones — often the most significant levels for future price reaction.
Value Area & Point of Control
Three key structural levels are automatically calculated and plotted: the Point of Control (POC) marking the highest-volume price, and the Value Area High and Low defining the range containing the majority of traded volume — by default set to the conventional 68% threshold. All three lines are fully configurable.
Volume-Weighted Bar Coloring
Price bars are colored based on their volume relative to the moving average baseline — providing immediate visual confirmation of whether a move is backed by strong participation or occurring on thin volume.
