The Messengers Guild consists exclusively of Pink MagiStone Bearers.  The guild was founded over 200 years ago and is one of the most prominent guilds in the known world.  

It is not uncommon for the Guild to seek out young adolescents who have the prized Pink MagiStone, and take them on as apprentices within the guild teaching them how to use their stone.  As such this has created in some nations, cities or regions a shortage of Pink Magi Bearers that are independent.  Those that are independents are generally discouraged through various means of working in Guild Territory, unless under state protection. 

As a result Nations, Noble Families and even Large business all have exclusive contracts with the Guild in order to pass information to people as quickly as possible.  This gives the Guild a lot of power and influence as they are often aware of state secrets etc. before anyone else, as a result there often exists a neutral distrust of the guild and questions around how much power does the guild have.  Additionally despite the guilds promise of confidentiality they are also one of the biggest information brokers in the world.  Whilst they dont share information from their employers during a contract period; once that period ends it has the ability to do so if not specifically stated otherwise in the contact.
